Richard Spencer-Bower

Richard was born on Claxby Farm and has lived at Claxby all his life. He was educated at Christs College Christchurch and after school did a short stint in Australia before returning to the family farm where he resides today.

Richards interests are jet-boating, rifle-shooting, fishing, vintage cars and he is the proud owner of a 1929 Ford Tudor Model A.

Richard is a member of the following Clubs:
Model A Ford Club of America Canterbury NZ Chapter
Small Bore Rifle Association of NZ (West Eyreton Club)
Christchurch Branch of the Jet Boat Association

Margaret Spencer-Bower

Margaret hails from a family farm in Nottinghamshire England.
She married Richard and has lived in New Zealand for 30 years on Claxby Farm. Their children Sam, Olivia & Marcus attended the local rural primary school at Swannanoa and secondary education at Christs College and Rangi Ruru in Christchurch.

Margaret is actively involved in the management of Claxby Farm and over the years has spent time on various Community Committees, rural groups and organisations.
Margaret is also a member of the Historic Places Trust of New Zealand.

Her interests are travel, reading, walking & cooking.
Margaret looks forward to welcoming fellow English 'countrymen' to Claxby Cottage.
